Registrants under the Hong Kong Institute of Audiologists Limited (HKIA) are those individuals who have met the relevant registration and clinical experience requirements for audiologists set by the HKIA.
Registrants must have graduated with a Master Degree or above in Audiology in local universities, with clinical practicum included in the postgraduate degree curriculum.
Alternatively, registrants must have graduated with a Master Degree or above in Audiology in overseas universities, with clinical practicum included in the postgraduate degree curriculum, and –
demonstrate that one can practice in the country where the professional qualification was obtained; or
have post-graduate local clinical practice for at least 1 year in the country where the professional qualification was obtained.
Grandfathering application must be submitted by 30 June 2019. Applications can be submitted by audiologists –
who graduated with a Professional Diploma or above in Audiology, with clinical practicum included in the postgraduate diploma curriculum, on or before 1 July 1997; and
who practiced in Hong Kong for over 10 years.
The HKIA will review and verify professional qualifications and experiences of individual applicants.

- will be considered by the Registration Committee within 3 months upon receipt
- Applicants will be informed about the application result within 1 month after Committee endorsement
